Young at Heart Festival

On Tuesday 03/03/26 we had the pleasure of doing a performance at ChatelHerault country park for the Young at Heart festival in South Lanarkshire. This concert was in collaboration with Live Music Now Scotland (LMNS). We absolutely love being a part of LMNS as it allows us to take our music to places and people who may otherwise not have the chance to experience live music. Music in cities can be quite a saturated market with so much choice and sometimes in turn smaller audiences. So playing for this audience in Chatelherault Country Park was a complete delight. We performed a selection of pieces- modern and traditional.

Opening with an arrangement by Professor Teddy Bor called McMozart’s Eine Kleine Bricht Moonlicht Nicht Musik…you can only imagine what that entailed. A culmination of Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik and traditional Scottish music- this was very fun. We moved on, telling Scottish fairy folklore with Gaelic poems and music written by Kimie Award winner 2024 Connor Bristow and swiftly moved into our own arrangements of trad tunes such as a triptych of Neil Gow’s Wife (Strathspey), King’s Barrow (English polka) and Catharsis (reel). Sharing stories of music with the audience was particularly enjoyable for us both on stage and after the concert.

Thank you Live Music Now Scotland for booking us for this occasion and we hope to be back soon and see some of the audience's familiar faces at future concerts!
